Mobile phone software/firmware faults are usually easy to diagnose and quite easy to rectify most of the time. Mobile phone software/firmware faults can be identified by the following symptoms:
Should your mobile phone display any of the above symptoms, the first thing to do would be to ascertain that the problem is indeed with your mobile phones software and not with the phones hardware:
A faulty battery can cause all sorts of problems with a mobile phone. If you have a friend or relative who has the same phone, try it and see if the problem still occurs.
Lack of charge in a battery can cause the phone to activate safety features that will stop you from accessing certain phone features until the battery has been charged.
Most modern mobile phones have a 'Master Reset' or 'Master Clear' function.
These functions allow you to reset the phone back to it's original state and clear the phones memory.
Like any computer, a mobile phone may start to struggle after a certain period of time and usage.
Please make sure you back up any important information on your phone before attempting to use the 'Master Reset' or 'Master Clear' functions.
In most cases using these functions will erase all information (e.g. numbers, sms messages, photo's, video, music etc).
If after reading the above you are sure that your mobile phones software/firmware is faulty, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
On most mobile phones this is an easy and inexpensive repair, however there are exceptions.
Always ensure that any repair to your phone is done professionally and it comes with a guarantee.
